Posey 1.4 is out

Finally Posey 1.4 is out. A bit of update: last week, we released 1.3 with a brand new user interface and features. We also decided to make a lite version of Posey free which will let you pose, but does not have advanced controls (both for iPad and iPhone).

Sadly someone (me) made a mistake in release and made it so that it was impossible to upgrade to the PRO version. We submitted a fix as soon as the last version was out. Finally it went thru and now you can upgrade to the PRO version on iPad.

Unfortunately PRO version is only available on iPad since iPhone screen is way to small for some gestures.

Pose away...

3 out of every 4 CS majors got into computers to make video games and the fourth one is lying

This great comment was from user "patio11" on Hacker News in response to this blog post on one person's experiences as an Android games developer.  If this is true of CS majors generally, it's even more true of those of us that specialize in computer graphics.  One of my early "inspirations" was Nintendo's Duck Hunt.  For years, I wondered how the gun worked so robustly.  It works with any TV and at pretty much any distance.  One day it finally struck me that maybe they have a camera inside the gun that takes pictures of your TV.  The game could look at the pixels in the middle of the image to figure out what you hit.  It turns out that's pretty much it, except the game makes detection even easier by changing the scene colors when you press the gun's trigger.  The duck temporarily turns white and everything else turns black - very clever!  Check out the full explanation here.
